Our annual FALL FESTIVAL is coming up on September 15th at 5:00 PM . There will be lots of fun activities for the kids, food , and baskets for the bidding!!! We hope to see you all there! This is such a great way for us to earn money for our school. Thank you PTA for all of your hard work!!!

Back to school night!!!

We are so excited to begin a new year here at Mt. Loafer Elementary. The kids have really brought life back to the school after a very SHORT summer of cleaning and quiet halls! We will be having a "Back to School Night" on Thursday August 25th from 6:00 to 7:00. (Kindergarten will begin at 5:00). We hope to see you there!!

School starts Monday August 22nd. We are excited to see all of our students!!! Most of you have already registered but if you have not please stop by anytime Aug 9th through the 12th from 9:00 am to 3:00. School starts for the teachers and office on August 16th so you can come in anytime after that as well.

Kindergarten Registration

Wednesday April 6th is Kindergarten registration from 8:00 to 4:00. Please let any of your neighbors know that will have kindergarten children next year. You will be required to have a copy of your immunizations, birth certificate and proof of residency. Your student must turn 5 years old before September 1st, 2011 Thank you!

SEP'S

This Wednesday and Thursday after school will be SEP conferences. Wednesday will be by app. only. You will be contacted by your teacher if their is need for an appointment. Thursday will be open for any parents who would like to come and visit with the teachers from 3:30 to 6:00. 5th and 6th grades will be set up in the gym on both days.

"KINDY"

Our Kindergarten classes had their annual "Kindy"! The classes were able to get in their "CARS" and travel to places like The White House, The Statue of Liberty, Mt. Rushmore, to visit Abraham Lincoln and Goerge Washington, the Flag and the Bald Eagle. These cars were adorable! Very Creative! Thank you to all of the parents who helped with this and Thank You to all of you parents that helped make these fabulour cars.

5th Grade Science Fair

Our Fifth grade classes had their Science Fair last friday. The students did a great job.

SPRING PICTURES

On Friday March 11th we will be having spring pictures. This year it is a little different. In the past they would take all of the students pictures and then you could order them if you wanted too. This year it is going to be prepaid just like in the fall. They will only be taking pictures of students that have their packets filled out with payment. Your student should be bringing home packets this week.

Nova Graduation

Snow Day

SNOW DAY

This Friday will be our annual SNOW DAY. Students will be divided into groups in the afternoon and be able to go out and sleigh ride on the hill and have hot cocoa and donuts. Mrs. Rudd has given permission for the students to bring there own sleds if they would like. If they do not have one we will provide garbage bags for them to use to slide on. Please remember to send your students in the appropriate clothing for this day.

Helicopter Ride

This past week we had a fabulous experience. One of our great kids here at Mt. Loafer gave his 3 favorite teachers a Helicoptoer Ride for Christmas. Mrs. Brown, Mrs. McKee and Miss. Duvall were the lucky winners. His Generous Father had volunteered not only to do this but to give 3 other children an oppurtunity for a ride that met there reading challenge. It was an awesome experience. Mrs. Rudd, Mrs. Pruitt and Mr. Hogan also got to go for a ride, it was one of the highlights of their year! Thank You Hansen Family!!!!!!!!!!!

Our Student Council this year decided they wanted to have a "Christmas Spirit Week!" It has really been a fun week for all of us and we have been amazed at the creativity of the students and the staff!!!!!!

Christmas Musical

Under the direction of Robin Brown, our Music teacher the 4th, 5th, and 6th grades put on a fabulous Christmas musical! They were joined by our Orchestra. The 4th grades performed numbers on there recorders and our 5th grades played many different instruments along with them. The highlight of the program was when the teachers joined them playing many different instruments. Mr. Ward on the drums, Mr. Applegate on the guitar, and Miss Duvall on the tamborine. Audrey Miller from 6th grade accompanied them on the piano. It was such a fun program. Thank you to all of these students who participated and a BIG THANK YOU to Mrs. Brown!

Wax Museum

Last week was our 5th grade Wax museam. The students did a great job. We all learned alot! Some people they portrayed were from times past and some were from the present. Good job 5th grade!

Food Drive

Mt. Loafer has been collecting canned food for those in need this holiday season. The classes that collected the most cans got to pick one class member to throw a PIE in Mrs. Rudds Face! This was extremely fun for all of the student body, however we are NOT sure how fun it was for Mrs. Rudd. Mrs. Olsens class was our winning class and runners up were Mrs. Peterson, Mrs. Trythall and Miss Kerr. Thank you Principal Rudd for being such a good sport!

Turkey Gobbling Contest

Mt. Loafer had there annual "Turkey Gobbling Contest!". We picked our 3 top Gobblers and 1 teacher. Mr. Applegate took the teacher award with his great rendition! They were all awarded a banner and a beautiful set of Tail Feathers!

TEMPLES AND TOMBS

Our 6th grade classes put on their "Temples and Tombs" program. It was very good, we enjoyed singing and dancing by all of them. Our 6th grade teachers, Mr. Applegate, Miss Duvall, and Mr. Ward did a great job getting this put together.

Superintendent Visit

Thursday Mt. Loafer had the pleasure of having a visit from our New Superintendent. He was first welcomed by the Student Council followed by visits to all of the classrooms. He was very impressed by all of the students and teachers here at our school!!!

Halloween 2010

Fun was had by all on Halloween . We started the day off with our Annual Halloween Parade, followed by "Spooky Halloween fun in the lunch room!" Mrs. Killian was our Halloween witch handing out treats. The day ended with class parties. Thanks to all of you Mother helpers helping with those.

Red Ribbon Week

Last week was Red Ribbon Week here at Mt. Loafer. We all enjoyed many activities including, Pajama Day, Sports Day, Wear RED day and a reading marathon on Friday. Thanks to all who helped with this week and Thanks to all of our students who participated.

Fall Festival

We would like to Thank our Fabulous PTA for a very successfull and Fun Fall Festival! Fun was definetly had by all that attended. We were able to raise a good amount of money for our school. Thanks to all of you that participated. We have wonderful support here at our school and we want to thank you all for that. The book baskets were AWSOME!!!!! Thanks for all of those who spent many hours putting them together and to all of you that donated to them.

Introducing our Student Council

We have recently held elections for a new 2010/2011 student council. We were so excited this year to have 34 kids participate! Each child that participated will be a representative for our school in some way. The students chose these top 8 students to lead them. Jacie, Student Body President, Jaxon , Vice President, Logan , Secretary and Shaylee , Justin , Isabell , Justin and Courtney as council members. Congratulations to ALL of the students who tried out! We are looking forward to a great year.

SCHOOL BEGINS!

It's finally here! The big "First day of School!" School begins Tuesday August 24th at 9:00 AM. We will be having "Back-to-School Night Thursday, August 26th. This will give you a chance to meet your students teachers. We will be ordering t-shirts for the students. We will be handing out notes that night for you to fill out if you are interested in a t-shirt. We are looking forward to having the students back and also look forward to a great year! Thank you for sharing you children with us.
